This morning a cold front is quickly moving across the region. A dry front for us, but it brings strong wind speeds from the north 22-35mph, gusts exceeding 50mph. A Wind Advisory is in effect until 6PM for Lubbock and our eastern counties. Current wind speeds below...

TODAY: Wind stays strong into the early afternoon then dropping off as you are heading home from work. For Lubbock and our southern counties temperatures near the same as yesterday, but highs to drop over 10 degrees to our north with highs in the upper 40s and low 50s.

TONIGHT: We quickly drop below freezing with a clear sky, low near 21. Wind speeds may still be a little breezy to our northeastern counties.

FRIDAY: Wind speeds ramp back up especially across the eastern counties. Breezy on the Caprock 12-25mph from the northwest. Highs in the upper 40s with a sunny sky.

WEEKEND: More clouds for Saturday with a few sprinkles possible later in the day. Much calmer wind speeds with highs continuing in the lower 50s.

NEXT WEEK: Our next system to bring some rain and snow across our region. This doesn't look promising for much of our area unfortunately, but that could change over the next few days. Temperatures will drop with highs in the 40s by Tuesday and wind speeds becoming stronger into next week as well.
