THIS AFTERNOON: It's briefly climbed into the 50s in Lubbock this afternoon, with readings in the 30s south, near Seminole, where there have been some showers. But since the air is so dry, even where radar shows showers, not much is reaching the ground. There was a coating of snow this morning over SE New Mexico, including Hobbs.
TONIGHT: Clearing sky, low near 22. Wind NW/W 5-10mph.
TOMORROW: Warmer and sunny, high near 60. Wind W/SW 5-15mph. The wind actually doesn't look too bad for the next few days.
LOOKING AHEAD: Back in the 70s Wednesday, slightly warmer Thursday.
An approaching storm system may lead to a few showers or thunderstorms late Thursday. We are seeing some instability for a few rumbles of thunder, but nothing severe. That said, all the rain and storms may wind up in the eastern Texas Panhandle, northeast of here. We'll keep an eye on this trend.
The wind will also kick up with that storm system, with it turning cooler and windy Friday.
It'll warm back up late this weekend into next week.
Have a great rest of your evening. Bobby will have a full update to the forecast here tomorrow morning.
