Yesterday the intensity of snow increased through the early afternoon, Lubbock recorded 1.1" of snow. This of course has lead to the additional icy conditions for the roads this morning. Please take it slow through today on the roads and give ample time to get to a destination if you must get out. High on nearing 24, cloudy with some flurries expected.
TONIGHT: We drop back to the single digits with a some teens in the area. Additional flurries and freezing fog possible which continues the hazards for the roads.
THURSDAY: Clouds will begin to break in the afternoon, but temperatures only look to warm a few degrees with upper 20s common.
EXTENDED: We will finally get out of these frigid temperatures and start to defrost Friday afternoon. This weekend wind speeds pick up to be breezy at times. Highs will warm to the 50s, then low 60s to start next week.
