The Red Raiders picked up their first win of the Maui Jim Maui Invitational dominating Louisville 70-38. It was a constricting defensive effort with the Cardinals held to just 13 first half points. The Red Raiders scored 12 unanswered to end the first 20 minutes with 32 points.

The outstanding defensive performance continued in the second half. Louisville scored their last points of the first half with 4:22 left on the clock, Texas Tech didn’t allow another point until the 14:10 mark. At the time that made the score 45-15, Tech with a mountainous 30 point lead. The Red Raiders never looked back and never gave Louisville any life. In the end the Cardinals turned the ball over 18 times.

Kevin Obanor led the way in the scoring department finishing with 15 points. Daniel Batcho was a point shy from a double double as he tallied 12 boards and 9 points. The Red Raider bench had a much more productive outing scoring a combined 29.
