National Hispanic Heritage Month

National Hispanic Heritage month is celebrated September 15th to October 15th.

The observation first started as Hispanic Heritage Week in 1968 under President Lyndon Johnson and was extended to a 30 day celebration in 1988 by President Ronald Reagan.  In 1989 President George H.W. Bush was the first president to declare September 15th to October 15th as National Hispanic Heritage Month.

This month we take time to celebrate nuestra herencia y cultura.  Familia is a very if not the most important part of our cultural.  We show our affection as we greet our familia con un abrazo that also extends beyond just family but to those whom we invite into nuestras casas.

During this National Hispanic Heritage Month take time to share and explain with others our rich traditions.  From Quinceneaneras, Dia de Los Muertos, Las Posadas, Semana Santa to our comida deliciosa and musical traditions.
