Arrington: 'God help us' if we're trying cases in the Washington Post

Posted: Updated:

Lubbock Congressman Jodey Arrington says if the claims against Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore are true, then a full criminal proceeding should follow.

"We have something called 'due process' here in the United States, and God help us all if we're trying cases in the Washington Post," he said. That's how I come down. Let's have the true arbiters of facts and people who should be rendering by a jury of their peers something that is this important. this is a campaign -- this is he said, she said. I think it's a problem if it's true."

The statute of limitations has passed on all of these claims, so there's never going to be a trial.

Congressman Arrington says a jury trial is the only way to learn the truth.

He says if the allegations are true, Roy Moore should not continue to run for Senate.
